About Kosher Kush
Kosher Kush was developed by DNA Genetics working with the Los Angeles collective known as Reservoir Seeds. It first appeared in LA's medical cannabis dispensary circuit around 2010 and immediately drew attention for its extraordinary potency and distinctive earthy-wine aroma. It went on to win the High Times Cannabis Cup for Best Indica in both 2010 and 2011, an achievement that cemented its reputation. The story of it being ceremonially blessed by a rabbi — giving it a unique marketing distinction — has never been confirmed but has become part of its mythology.
The flowers are exceptionally dense and heavy for their size, with a deep olive-green base and an almost absurd density of trichomes that gives the entire bud a silver-white sheen. The aroma is complex and unusual for an indica: a deeply earthy base with notes of ripe fruit, wine, and a funky, fermented quality that some describe as cheese-adjacent. It is rich, heavy, and unmistakable.
Effects arrive quickly and with considerable force. Kosher Kush is one of the few strains capable of stopping an experienced consumer in their tracks — the body stone is total and almost immediate, inducing profound physical relaxation, heaviness, and a dreamy, euphoric mental state that is pleasant but not especially functional. It is a pure evening strain, best suited for severe chronic pain, extreme insomnia, anxiety disorders, and situations where the goal is complete physical and mental release. THC levels frequently test above 25%, and some batches have exceeded 29%.
Growing requires intermediate experience. Plants are indica-compact and finish in eight to nine weeks but are prone to becoming very heavy during late flowering and may require structural support.
