Cherry Pie

A flavourful West Coast hybrid bursting with sweet cherry and floral notes, beloved for its balanced, mood-lifting high.

About Cherry Pie

Cherry Pie — sometimes called Cherry Kush — is a hybrid that rose to prominence in California's medical cannabis scene during the late 2000s and early 2010s. Its most widely cited lineage traces back to Granddaddy Purple crossed with Durban Poison, though some phenotypes suggest an OG Kush contribution in the background. The breeder is typically attributed to the Bay Area collective known for the Girl Scout Cookies family of strains.

The visual appeal is immediately striking: dense, rounded buds with deep purple and forest-green hues threaded through with burnt-orange pistils and a generous frost of trichomes. The aroma is unmistakably cherry-forward, with a sweet, candied quality reminiscent of cherry filling rather than fresh fruit, underscored by earthy kush undertones and a faint floral note that becomes more pronounced as buds are broken apart.

The smoke is smooth and fragrant, delivering that sweet-tart cherry character on the palate alongside a creamy, doughy finish. Effects are well-balanced and relatively swift in onset — a cerebral uplift settles over the mind within minutes, clearing mental fog and inducing a gently euphoric, sociable state. The body follows with a relaxing warmth that eases tension without pinning the user to the couch at moderate doses. Cherry Pie is frequently recommended for stress, anxiety, and mild pain management.

Cultivation is approachable for intermediate growers. Plants are compact and bushy, responding well to topping and low-stress training. Flowering completes in eight to nine weeks, and the yield is above average for an indica-dominant hybrid. Humidity control during the final two weeks of flowering is important to protect the dense bud structure from botrytis.
